A Memorandum of understanding was made Between Aquaculture Development Centre, Pitipna Negombo of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land ,Irrigation ,Animal production and Health, Fisheries and Agrarian Development(western Province) and the Department of Aquatic Bioresources, Faculty of Urban and Aquatic Bioresources, University of Sri Jayawardenepura on August 18, 2023 at the Governor’s office,Western provincial council ,Battaramulla.
Honorable Governor Ari Marshal Roshan Gunatilake,Mr.Pradeep yasarathna,Chief Secretary ,Mr.Chanadana Ranaweera Arachchi,Secretary ,Ministry of Agriculture(wp),Dr.Sarath,Provincial Director,Department of Animal Production and health(western province) and Dr.Erandi Pathirana,Head, Department of Aquatic Bioresources, University of Sri Jayawardenepura were participated for this occation .This MOU shall be effective for a period of ten years.
The MOU reflects to collaborate in specific activities set out here in practical aquaculture training to students,health and nutrition management of aquatic animals farmed at the Center,fundamental and applied research,commercialization of research outcomes and dissemination of knowledge in order to ensure sustainble development of aquaculture production in Sri Lanka
